A View Across The Post Office Pit.

On the left is the Methodist chapel converted into Roy Carlton’s coal lorry garage (latterly converted into a house by Martin Woolner). Dick Leverett owned the garage and ran the Post Office. The cottages were were occupied by Doris King and Leah Thompson (sisters). On the right is the Oddfellows Hall purchased by Dominic Guard.
