Trades At Great Massingham: Publican At The Rose and Crown.
One of five public houses in the village. To the left of the pub is a house now named “Johore” and was once a Post Office run by Mr Leverett. To the right is a new build then housing Mr Kiddle the Saddle & Harness Maker (also landlords). The lean-to on the left was used by Mr Mason to recharge batteries, carbide and acetylene lamps. To the left of the village well is the Village Stores. The image is digitally restored from a broken glass plate photograph.
